I've heard about some really great books such as "The Five Love Languages," what are some other resources that have helped your marriages?

About 25 yeaers ago my wife and I attended a weekend retreat sponsored by the Catholic Church called Marriage Encounter. We found that it rekindles the original feeling that you had when you were first married and it teaches communication techniques. Although we have long since become evangelical christians we still gather with our friends usually monthly in a Marriage Encounter Circle.

The Marriage Enounter program is still very active in my area and you can look for weekends in your area at http://www.wwme.org/new.html.

Hello just joined today. I had to lol at your post, and then I thought her and my hubby sound like 2 peas in a pod. I've re-cently gotten married and don't know why exactly and then in a way I do...but things have really been blatenly out of order.

So I'm finding myself asking why did I get married to this man? We're already acting like strangers. There are many factors contributing to my doubts: for one we are both not faithfully 100% doing Gods' will. But you've put alot on my mind thank you.

I just read your post about marriage from August 1, 2009 and I feel like you were the only person on the sight that was coming from my point of view. My marriage is in trouble and I don't know what to do. My husband will not consider counseling or anything else. I am at a loss. I want to save the marriage but don't know what to do. He would never read a book about how to save a marriage or improve a relationship either.

Rod,
I encourage you to not sacrifice the present feelings for the future God has planned. If you truly want to be happy you must obey and not just go on feelings. Feelings lead us astray. If we follow God's will the feelings for your wife will return. Remember we are to guard our heart above all else.

I loved the 40 days of love and the movie "Fireproof."
