Welcome to S.H.A.P.E. Central!
This site was designed for those of you that ask the simple question, "How does Saddleback use S.H.A.P.E. to empower and equip their members?" S.H.A.P.E. started out being a simple tool to help people discover their ministry, now we use it to help people embrace and express all purposes of life.
The strategy of S.H.A.P.E. Discovery has been about three core values - Grasp - Give - Grow, which you can learn all about within this site. These values not only will release the potential within your church - but also within YOU!
To help you learn more about these core values use the tabs to the side. You can also check out the number of free resources under the “tools” tab. Lastly, you can learn from other great churches by reading their stories under the "ministry spotlight" tab. If you have a specific question regarding S.H.A.P.E. please email me at erik@purposedriven.com.
Thankful your here!

Crossroads Community Church in Mansfield, Ohio
Rich Workman, director of ministry
By Michelle Doerr
If there can be one mantra that fits the philosophy of ministry at Crossroads Community Church in Mansfield, Ohio, it would be this: Serving together to transform lives. With this purpose in mind, Rich Workman, director of ministry at Crossroads, has determined to impact culture with the message of service, using Jesus’ life of service as the model. Rich says, “Ministry can happen as long as it turns ‘irreligious’ people into focused, faithful followers of Christ.” And for that to happen, Rich believes we must understand our culture, understand God’s Word, and finally, by applying God’s Word to culture, we will see growth.
Rich places a strong emphasis on the training aspect of serving, both for the volunteers themselves and for the ministry leaders. It is Rich’s goal to communicate the idea that volunteers will feel valued and much less intimidated when they are well trained. Read more >>
